How I Work

Shanly uses three modalities to deepen and improve the client’s awareness of their body, mind and spirit: Somatic Therapy based on Peter Levine’s work Somatic Experiencing®, Mindfulness Meditation and Chi Kung.

Her approach is tailored to the specific needs of the client. Sometimes the work is done sitting in chairs. Other times, movement or a massage table is used. Regardless of your physical or mental disabilities, Shanly is able to accommodate your needs.

During a 90-minute session, Shanly and the client work together on tapping into the neurological system to deepen its capacity. Sometimes Shanly will access the energy body to seal the work and sometimes she will give specific ”homework” and practices to strengthen the work. Whatever it offered, it will train the client to go further with the work on their own.

Shanly believes you can be your own best healer. What you do for yourself has the most profound effects on the system because practice is like self-treatment. Usually, she will recommend mindfulness meditation and other specific practices for each individual situation and need. That way, the person is empowered to heal him or herself, which greatly improves the person’s health and mental and spiritual capacity.
